    Yiting suddenly let out a screech. Everybody was freaked out.

    一婷突然一声尖叫,所以人都被吓一跳。

    screech    /skriːtʃ/

    n. a loud high unpleasant cry or noise

    尖叫声,尖锐刺耳的声音。(指听了让人难受的声音,比如用铁蹭黑板的声音)

    Eg. He heard a screech of brakes and then fell down.

    他听到刺耳的刹车声,然后就倒下了。

    v. to make a loud high unpleasant sound; to say something using this sound

    尖叫。

    Eg. "I want to kill you!" Yiting screeched.

    "我要杀了你!"一婷尖叫道。

    freak    /friːk/

    n. A person with a very strong interest in a particular subject;

    A person who is considered to be unusual because of the way they behave,

    look or think

    狂人(指一个人对某件事具有极其强烈的兴趣);

    Eg1. Jet is a science freak.

    Eg2. I know a person who is treated like a freak because he waddles like a duck.

    adj. very unusual and unexpected.

    非常奇怪的,出乎意料的。

    Eg. A freak accident/storm/occurrence

    出乎意料的事故/变态的暴风/出乎意料的事件

    v. Freak out  if somebody freaks or if something freaks them, they react very strongly to something that makes themsuddenly feel shocked, surprised, frightened, etc.

    吓人一跳。(指被吓的特别厉害,吓得要跳起来那种)

    Eg. It really freaked us out when your teacher shouted at us.

    老师对我们大声吼叫的时候真的把我们吓坏了。

    Candy doesn't expect that any of her effort comes to fruition.

    Candy不指望她的任何努力能有成果。

    fruition    /fruːˈɪʃ.ən/

    n. the successful result of a plan, a process or an activity

    成果,成就。

    Eg. His extravagant ideas were never brought to fruition.

    他那些不切实际的想法从来没有收到成果。
