Pablo Picasso is a very famous painter. I am limited in level and can only read his paintings from a transnational and cross-cultural perspective. From the painting concept of Pablo Picasso's, I think Pablo Picasso's paintings have obvious signs, according to Adams “interplay of text, commentary, symbolism, and style of representation” (171).
Characteristics, the world of Pablo Picasso is recognized as a famous master of painting, and some of his paintings use special signs to reflect the uniqueness of his life.We can only use the distance theory in aesthetic theory to explain art needs a certain distance from real life; if it is too close to feel the reality, it cannot be called art, but it is too far away. Too much from life, it is difficult to understand, such art is meaningless, according from Adams “work of art as a visual system of signs” (176).
Picasso's paintings have different styles. The reason why people can find emotional resonance in his paintings is because Picasso's paintings do have readers. Just the right distance. Of course, everyone's way of appreciating art is different, and it is also related to each person's experience and disposition. For me, some of Picasso's paintings are indeed too far away from real life, and many symbols are not well understood. I have read the story of Picasso's life. He should belong to a painter with a crazy type of character in the eyes of the world. Some people call it crazy. Although his painting style is unique, I can't understand his world: his ideas shatter his picture, his paintings signifies and a signified his life of every lover, we can find signs of his lover from his paintings. The shadow, his canvas looks like a piece of shards, and his lover is also a special symbol he hid in painting. He paints the shackles, pains, and distortions of these women with a brush, which is, to a certain extent, very realistic. But his paintings destroyed all their tenderness and love, but he made himself through these paintings. This is Picasso. For example, Pablo Picasso's paintings use simplified and deformed methods to transform figurative images into abstract symbols, also many signs of his Cultural background and law stipulate that if a person is married, you cannot marry another person, but I read Pablo Picasso's painting, he has a lot of secret lover can't let his wife know, so his painting uses signs to draw a picture is to innovate and hide his lover. He used his new painting techniques to hide his secret lover in his paintings. But there are signs of his secret lover, no matter how he hides, the reader can still find it. The reason is that the cultural environment cannot allow him to directly paint his secret lover. Signs let us read his paintings and understand signifies of art. As for the same method of semiotics, I don't think it is necessary to be mechanical。
