Wisdom in Life 1:Success is ofte

I wrote an article about the paradoxical nature of life, which reveals that everything in life does not follow a linear mode of development; ancient wisdom from various sources indicates that everything proceeds cyclically or interchangeably. Therefore, all opposites can transform into each other or contain each other: Everything is one, as the following images represent.

Based on this theoretical foundation, we can see that life is intricate. Buddhism teaches us that "福祸相依,否极泰来", which means "blessings and curses depend on each other; so when the worst has happened, the best will appear". In other words, blessings and curses are interdependent. If someone has had bad luck lately, it means his blessing will come soon. This wisdom encourages us to look at everything with a flexible attitude. Those who ignore this law and take everything for granted are bound to suffer. As a famous Western proverb says, " Sometimes when you win, you really lose, and sometimes when you lose, you win." ... Winning or losing is one organic mechanism from which you get what you need."①

In summary, we can arrive at a pearl of an important wisdom that goes against common sense, common knowledge, normal laws and linear logic: success is mostly counter-intuitive. This golden rule results in the fact that, in life, winners are far fewer than losers and the poor are far more than the rich. Because most people follow intuition and common sense; only a minority of people intentionally think and take action in the opposite way; consequently, they achieve success, which I will illustrate with examples in the subsequent serial essays.
