It is true that several natural resources are non-renewable including oil, fresh water, which means the world will eventually run out of them. Although there will undoubtedly be some negative consequences of this trend, societies can take steps to alleviate these potential problems.
As people continue to live on the earth where the natural resource is limited, related problems can be anticipated. The main issue is that if a resource like oil is being used at an alarming rate, a rapid rise in the price of it will be inevitable. As a result, the upward price trend constantly spread to surrounding area. For example, public transportation and industrial product cost more money than people were in the past due to the increasing price of oil. In addition, if other natural resources such as forests and water which is significant to our ecosystem are consumed unlimitedly, people will receive the punishment from the nature in the end. For example, forestation and excessive consumption of wood in Beijing in 1970s brought serious sand storm.
There are several actions that governments could take to combat these issues described above. Firstly, a simple solution would be to encourage citizens to cultivate the sense of responsibility for our environment by publishing some news about energy crisis or some movies about climate changes. A second measure would be for governments to invest more resource in the field of taking advantage of renewable resources like solar energy and nuclear energy, which is supposed to be a more effective strategy for preventing energy crisis. Last but not least, officials can raise the level of tax on products are damage to environment whilst lowering the taxation on items are in an eco-friendly manner.
In conclusion, various measures can be taken to mitigate the problems that are certain to arise as precious natural resources are consumed out of a safe threshold.
