I am writing this letter at the request of Li Kenan to support his application for your outstanding program. I am a lecturer in Jiangnan University and I have known Li Kenan since 2012 when I became his class adviser. He was one of the only students who often shared their ideas with me over the years.
I believe Li Kenan can achieve academic success. It was true that he was not interested in his major, Automation Engineering, but he knew he should pass all the subjects in order to graduate smoothly. In fact, his average GPA generally rose during the four years thanks to this realization and he never failed any subject throughout. Therefore, with the course that really interests him, he has high potential to stand out.
He devoted much time to building up his organizational and leadership skills in university. When he was a sophomore, he created and registered a society called Alfy, which aimed to recruit people with specialities like dancing, singing, playing table tennis, etc. to teach whoever wanted to learn the skills for free. This was a really creative initiative and it has benefited hundreds of university students since then. Meanwhile, as the chairman, he developed his team from two to over forty members and organized a number of types of weekly teaching routines. Thus, you can imagine how good he is in terms of his management ability.
He is also impressive as a persistent person. The last term of his university life witnessed his perseverance in practicing English. Getting up early and attending the English corner for half a year with rare absence was really striking, and that explains the main reason why he became eligible for being an English teacher in a listed company. This is just mind-boggling given that he did not major in English and he had to finish his own course as well, but it all made sense considering all the hard work he had done.
Now he wants to be a more professional English teacher and I believe this is his true aspiration as his teaching experiences have told him what this career is like. Hence, I strongly recommend him for admission.
