先生不是在翻译，只是找到名头来创作吧。

原句出自诗人英国诗人西格夫里·萨松的《于我，过去，现在以及未来》，由余光中老先生翻译。值得注意的是，余老先生将rose翻译成了蔷薇，而不是玫瑰，更不是月季。既完美的做到了“信达雅”这三个字，又使得这句话十分押韵，不得不让人佩服。
金岳霖当年翻译《毛泽东选集》，译到“吃一堑，长一智”时，一时下不了手。
钱钟书遂支招，译作：
A fall into the pit, a gain in your wit.
译文和中文一样对仗，而且押韵。
还有一些令人叹服的中英文神翻译：
杜甫的名句“无边落木萧萧下，不尽长江滚滚来”，曾被余光中看做无法翻译的诗句。“无边落木，‘木’后是‘萧萧
’，是草字头，草也算木；不尽长江，‘江’后是‘滚滚’，也是三点水。这种字形，视觉上的冲击，无论你是怎样的翻译高手都没有办法的。”这句诗的翻译问题很典型，基本可以管窥在不同文化之间传达意境的难度。
余先生大概不知道，其时这句诗已经有“高手”翻译过了，而且还不止一个人。“萧萧下”是著名诗人卞之琳翻译的，三个字被译成“shower by shower（一阵又一阵、纷纷洒落）”；而其余部分是他的学生许渊冲完成的，以“hour after hour（时时刻刻）”结尾，和卞译合辙押韵、珠联璧合。
无边落木萧萧下：The boundless forest sheds its leaves shower by shower；
不尽长江滚滚来：The endless river rolls its waves hour after hour.
“草字头”用重复sh(sheds,shower）的译法，“三点水”则用重复r(river,rolls）的译法。音义双绝，闻者称美。
