I often get up late at weekends because I usually burn my midnight oil on Friday andSaturday. Even though my daughter wake me up earlier, I always stay in bed for an hour. After staying up late, I usually wake up with a headache in the morning.
I really wish I would wake up naturally without an alarm clock. Although I don’t set real alarm clock at weekends, my daughter is just like an alarm clock. She always whispers to me in the morning, “Mom, it’s so late. Get up quickly.” You told me “early to bed and early to rise”.“Today is weekend. We can sleep/lie in.”（睡懒觉）I always answer impatiently.
One week, it was 10 a.m. when I got up. I told my daughter we could have brunch today. She was curious and asked me what a brunch was. I explained to her that brunch is a meal usually taken late in the morning that combines a late breakfast and an early lunch. She thought for a while.
“Mom, I still want to have lunch.” She said.
“Brunch includes the lunch.” I answered.
“No, I want lunch.” She insisted.
“Brunch includes the lunch.” I said slowly to heragain.
“In this way, we will skip lunch. It’s not healthy. You told me many times, didn’t you?” She said to me seriously.
Her question beat me. I had no choice but to get up quicklyto make breakfast for my daughter.
