罗伯特·弗罗斯特(Robert Frost,1874年3月26日——1963年1月29日)是20世纪美国著名的田园诗人,也是20世纪美国诗坛拥有读者群最庞大、影响力最持久的杰出诗人。他一生中曾四次获得美国享誉最高的普利策文学奖,是位独领风骚的美国诗人。代表作品《诗歌全集》《一棵作证的树》《山间》《新罕布什尔》《西去的溪流》《又一片牧场》《林间空地》《未选择的路》。他的诗作清新流畅、朴素自然、从不无病呻吟、矫揉造作,“往往以描写新英格兰的自然风光或风俗人情开始,不知不觉地进入哲理的境界,最后达到警句似的结论,给人以不可言传的快乐”。
The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
黄色的树林里分出两条路,
可惜我不能同时去涉足,
我在那路口久久伫立,
我向着一条路极目望去,
直到它消失在丛林深处。
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
