Poster I made for New Year's Celebration
350 kids, 12 classes, 1 celebration---it's a lot to put together. I am still trying to figure out everything. What impressed me was how happy kids were when they were preparing their performances. They have so much fun dancing to the song, doing Tai Chi, working together with their friends. I guess only adults like me will care about the outcome.
Today, I finally put a rough list together, made a poster and wrote more emails.
K: Nihau Song + Number Kong Fu
Lion Dance
1st: Sing and dance—where is my friend?
Margaret: Chinese Traditional Dance(not sure)
2/3rd (Frog & Spider): Cup game
2/3rd (Octopus & Owl): Tai Chi
Wudang Kong Fu Performance(not sure)
4/5th (Blue Heron): Tang poem—singing
4/5th (Kingfisher): Tang poem—Kong Fu
Choir: Chinese Folk Song(Thanks to my people-Victoria)
Chinese YO-YO performance(Thanks to my people- Leanna)
4/5th (Elk & Eagle): Tibetan Circle Dance
Stations in the hallway at school entrance:
Kids from Middle School(need to get permission from parents)
Hosts and Volunteers:
Kids from Middle School(need to start practicing hosting)
Decorations:
Kids from both Middle School and Elementary School(start earlier, maybe next week)
Clothes:
Red or white top and dark color pants(need to email homeroom teachers one week ahead)
Parent Volunteers:
Spread the word through school campus(write campus article after school tomorrow night )
