As I said the idea of the unconscious has been around for quite a long time. There are a number of German philosophers, early psychologists who had talked about the unconscious, importantly, a man named Edward von Hartman and another one Carl Gustav Carus.

When Freud got this package, he was very excited to have made contact with his psychiatrist from Zurich.

So from about 1905 on the story of the relationship, the Jung's relationship with Freud begins first with a gift of his book and then they visit to Vienna in 1907.
