避免重复 P95-100
“重要的事情说三遍，重要的事情说三遍，重要的事情说三遍。”，不知从何时起流行起这种明示的强调的，重复有时候确实是不可避免的，或有意或无意，比如毛主席说“we should remember our friends and not forget them"，多好；
在判断是否重复之前，想好”是否有这个需要必须重复“，如上面的例子，或者"we will win and the enemies will be defeated", 这种需要强调一下的，尽可重复。
若无关紧要，则尽量避免重复的好，言语传递一个人的思维，清晰干练的表达更吸引读者读完文章。
如何避免重复？
书中提了几个方法，比如：
删：多余的尽可删除
比如下面这个，两段都包含 ”important“ 的分句其实就已经暗示哪里不对了，说的是一回事，把'and'后面那个分句去掉一点也不影响句子原意，还简练。
He stressed that all State Council departments have an important responsibility in the struggle and said they are in a very important position
个人感觉，如果句子中出现了多次相同的一些重点词，基本上就要注意是否有重复现象了，比如 下面的 strength/strengthen, environmental/environment
- we must further strengthen the building of national defense in order to enhance our defense strength
- it is essential to control environmental pollution so as to protect the environment
换：换个别的表达
这个就稍有点难度，因为有可能是翻译在理解上出错了，如文中提到的”交通“译成了"means of communication and communications equipment", 而实际是”emans of transportation and communication".
另外就是逻辑上的表达问题。
书中的这个例子比较有代表性，也包含了前面一种“删”即可的情况：
We must continue to strengthen basic reasearch and increase scientific and technological strength and staying power for further development
前面提过，看到出现两个 strengthen/strength 就要考虑一下重复了：

strengthen basic ...~=increase scientific...strength -
continue to strength...和staying power...都有继续的意思 - 逻辑上的问题：
- strength basic... 和 increase scientific...
- 后者是目的(in order to), 不是并列关系(and)
作者改写后是这样的：没有一个重复词了
To enchance our ability to make further advance in science and technology, we must continue to expand basic research.
其实，对应改前的句子，猜测其原文是这样的，比较符合中文表达：
我们必须继续加强基础研究，提高科学技术能力，持续稳定发展。
只是，如果要翻译成英文，平白直铺的话，就会出现上面的重复问题。
改：改个别的词
就是换个近义词的意思，如果不好直接删的话，
To maintain steady growth of the economy, we must implement a long-term policy of steady economic growth
重复的 steady ..., 将其中一个换成 keep ...
To keep the economy growting, we must implement a long-term policy favorable to steady economic development
