单词

• slip
  复习一下，之前出现过的，表示滑倒，滑落

• optician
  验光配镜师，眼镜商

• eye test
  视力检测，也可以叫eye examination

• eyesight
  视力，目力

• garage
  汽车修理厂，或者表示车库，注意一下它的发音，英式和美式发音挺不一样的。

• petrol
  复习一下，汽油，也可以用gas或gasoline表示

• ice lolly
  复习一下，冰糕，雪糕，也就是我们说的冰棒儿~

• tow
  托，拉，牵引，也可作名词。

   I can give you a tow if you want.
   如果你愿意，我可以拖带你的车。

• soapy
  满是肥皂泡的，涂满肥皂的

• rinse
  清洗，冲洗

• malfunction
  （机器）出故障，运转失常，失灵

• fog
  雾气，区别于smoke（烟），我们说的雾霾叫smog（感觉像是smoke+fog结合的产物，哈哈哈），也可以叫haze。

  梯子，或表示（社会、组织或系统中晋升或降级的）梯级，阶梯

  试验，试用，测验
     London Transport hopes to try out the system in September.
     伦敦交通系统有望在九月份对该系统进行试运营。

• walk into
  （不小心）遇上，（不慎）陷入: if you walk into an unpleasant situation, you become involved in it without expecting to, especially becasue you have been careless.
     He's walking into a situation that he absolutely can't control.
     他正陷入自己完全无法控制的局面。

句子

• I can't see a thing.
  我什么都看不到，相当于"I can't see anything."。
     I can't see a thing without my glasses.
     我不戴眼镜就啥也看不见。

• what a stroke of luck!
  这真是太幸运了，复习一下，在前面的笔记中出现过多次，a stroke of luck表示一件（幸运的）事。
