Someone sighs
in a distant land
A child shot
and wonders why
I am not okay
the child looks at her own blood
I am not fine
with tears crying for help
Can someone please hold me
I am so afraid
I don’t know what to do
I am just a child
Can someone please
hug me tight
My parents killed
by foreigners
US doing a great job
making useless war
Scaring everyone
in my country to death
I am a war child
with no family left
My family lineage
will end with me
My civilization
thousands of years old
I am the last of an ancient people
My 5,000 year family tree
extinct by a US bullet
The bullet has an address
Independence Missouri USA
Can someone return this bullet
to its maker with my picture
I will be dead
I am only a child
I was shot with this bullet
made in Missouri
and shot by a US soldier
Does anyone in America care
Your bullet just killed me
a child
Dying alone is dreadful
and cold
What did I do wrong
Why is this bullet so evil
that it had to track down
a foreign child to kill
Please can someone hug me
and hold me tight
