ON THE WRONG BUS IS NOT ENOUGH TO RUIN A DAY

    搭错车

It will be a horrible day for me, but I choose not to.

It was 7 am in the morning, and I was crowded into a public bus by people moving around. It was exactly the same bus I used to take when I went to work, and I would get off 5 stops away and waited for the company shuttle bus passing by around 7:40 am. I have thought that this may be the normal part for me today, however, I found that I was on the wrong bus.

The original stop I used to get off the bus is no longer available after certain adjustment in transportation. And I was left half surprised and half panic when someone else on the bus wanna get off at the same stop as I do shouted out in surprise.

It was 7:25 and I hadn't been at the stop where I await the company bus usually but a the wrong bus heading to miles away. The company bus would be minutes earlier since the road was not so crowded on the first day back from Chinese new year holidays and it would be the opening ceremony with firework and red packet so we were asked to be earlier to company compared with ordinary days. So it would be without adequate time for me to get back to the original stop for company bus.

Things keep crowded in across my mind. Why me? Why today? Why the bus keeping passing the same stop may skip the place it should have been to. It would be better if I had a glance before I got on the bus. But how could I know there had been some changes in the stop?

The woman would like to get off at the same stop kept talking aloud, as if it were her obligation to tell the whole world that the bus had disappointed her by not letting her get off as she could reasonably expect. With her restless voice in ears, I had become unexpectedly silent and wide awake, without adding a single complaining comment to her emotional denouncement.

I got off the bus at an annoying stop far away from the destination I headed for without being annoyed by it. Things could go wrong, but it is still our choice to let it get to us or not.

Nothing is strong enough to ruin a day brand new and a mind determined to be delighted.
