After reading a series of psychological books, including The courage to be disliked, The courage to pursue happiness, Counseling for Toads: a psychological adventure. Also browsing some books about TCM and health preserving, I feel like reading about some other topics.
Right now, the question confuses me the most is how to make online lessons efficient as I have been experimenting online teaching since the beginning of May. For the first two weeks, I considered online lessons an expected bonus for me to bond more with kids. After the 2 30-minute sessions, I immediately closed my laptop and went to the park with kids and did not really think about whether the lessons were productive. However, with Zhongkao around the corner, I felt increasing pressure and responsible for the kids to prepare them better the coming exams.
The core question is: how to influence the kids to be more motivated in learning with me on other end of the Internet just by talking with them on a screen? I started the searching for the answer by thinking about one excellent example of influencing people on the Internet: live-streaming selling. I entered the live broadcasting rooms of Liu Tao, Wei Ya and Li Jiaqi and tried to figure out the magic they had to attract people to spend money willingly on the products they sell. The qualities they have in common include: 1. all of them are good looking; 2. they all have seemingly sincere and authentic attitude, which make their speeches convincing. But I feel these answers still are not complete.
To find more answers, I found the book Flip the script by Aron Klaff, an experienced investment banker.
And from his glorious examples, I think I do find some practical answers:
1. 身份对齐;2. 闪现专业才能;3. 凛冬来临;4. 2倍理论 ;5. 风险共担。
不要过于低姿态的殷勤,而是以专业的姿态来销售。
These strategies all apply to teaching--which is selling knowledge in some way.
However, I need to digest these strategies and try to put them into practice.
