Go to one’s long home 归他永远的家 ；死亡的婉称。

出自《旧约·传道书》12章（Ecclesiastes 12）： 人所愿的也都废掉，因为人归他永远的家。When people are afraid of heights and of dangers in the streets; when the almond tree blossoms and the grasshopper drags itself along and desire no longer is stirred. Then people go to their eternal home and mourners go about the streets.

“尘归尘，土归土”。《圣经》中这点跟中国文化比较类似。长眠于地下，归于永恒的家。当然，注意这里是“long home”，永远的家。虽然，受佛教轮回思想影响，中国人也相信来世，但总体儒家文化之下，我们更愿意生活在当下，现世，也就是“出世”。这点还是有所区别的，西方更相信来世，基督教文化下，就是这样，所以可以理解中世纪的“赎罪券”那么风行。
