英文圣经阅读笔记 5 - Genesis 1: 26 ~ 28

创1:26神说，我们要照着我们的形像，按着我们的样式造人，使他们管理海里的鱼，空中的鸟，地上的牲畜，和全地，并地上所爬的一切昆虫。

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

创1:27神就照着自己的形像造人，乃是照着他的形像造男造女。

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

创1:28神就赐福给他们，又对他们说，要生养众多，遍满地面，治理这地。也要管理海里的鱼，空中的鸟，和地上各样行动的活物。

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

注意到这几句里面有许多点介词的用法：

照着...的样子 用  in ;   in .... image  ;  in .... likeness 

管理：  rule  over ;  用over 有较强烈的至上而下的意思在里面。后面第28节讲 “治理这地” 时，用的不再是 rule over, 而是更强烈的 subdue.  

Subdue: to conquer and bring into subjection, 它的同义词是vanquish， 是征服的意思。

”要生养众多“ 可以很简洁地用 “Be fruitful” 来表示。

从这几句经文看出，上帝原本给人的工作是做管理这地球上的一切生物，而无需自己辛苦劳作。但人却要偏行己意。
