God has said so

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” so we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”—Hebrews13:5-6

“I speak so” must be based on “God speaks so.” Then He said, “I will never leave you.” Then I can boldly say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.” –I will not be haunted by fear. This is not to say that I will not be tempted by fear, but I know God has said so. Then I would have the courage, like a child, to try to reach the level the Lord wants. Many people’ s confidence are shaken by fear, and forget that “God has said so” and take a deep breath in the holy spirit. The only way escaping the fear is to hear “God speaks so.”

What are you afraid? You are not a coward, and you have to face the reality, but there is always a feeling of fear. When you are alone, say, “The Lord is my helper, here and now.” Have you ever learned to listen to God before you speak? Or do you take the liberty of speaking and then try to back it up with God’s word? Seize the Lord’s “He speaks so.”, and say with the courage, “I will not fear.” The danger on the road is nothing to worry about, for he had said, “I will never leave you.”

Another thing that prevents God’s word is the weakness of will. We are often weak in difficulty and the difficulty becomes a powerful giant, but we are like grasshoppers, it seems that God doesn’t exist. Remember God’s words of “I will never leave you.” Do we learn to hear “God’s tonic and sing? Do we often have the courage to say that “The Lord is my helper.”? or just let it go?

Dear God, speak to me now and inspire me for this day. The deep and destructive darkness seem to grip my power.
