Confucius was the first teacher historically to teach thousand students in a private capacity. Though the number might be a gross exaggeration, he was undoubtedly a quite influential teacher. It is known that he was the founder of the Ju school, which "delighted in the study of the Liu Yi and emphasized matters concerning human-heartedness and righteousness."
