I want to talk about sea otters. They have a long body and short legs.
They are aquatic animals, and we can see them in some mini-habitats.
They prey on fish and spend a lot of time grooming themselves.
I like otters because they are very cute. Last summer, I visited a mini habitat with my friends. This enabled us to know many features of wild animals. We saw several sea otters groom themselves in the pool. Then the tour guide informed us of many facts about otters. In fact, otters’ dense fur works as their thermal underwear, and their fur consists of much hair. To keep the hair in good condition, sea otters groom their hair, because sea water would get in their fur and reduce the waterproofing qualities of their fur. To wash salts off, otters float at the water’s surface, holding their paws. With less hair on their paws, when floating, otters keep their paws out of the water to conserve body heat. They look so cute that they captivate my heart.
In fact, otters live in danger because some people poach them for their fur. I think actions should be taken to protect the cute endangered species.
