The rockhopper penguin is one of the smallest kinds of penguin. The rockhopper penguins are only about 60 cm tall and usually weigh less than 4 kg. They are unique for their yellow eyebrows. The origin of their name is the habit of jumping from rock to rock.
凤冠企鹅是世界上最小的企鹅之一。它们仅仅只有约60厘米高，往往不足4千克。它们因黄色的眉毛而独树一帜，在石头上跳去跳来的习惯是它们名字的起源。
The rockhopper penguins often eat squid（乌贼）, mollusks（软体动物类） ，krill （磷虾；鱼苗）, octopus and small fish.They can be found on many islands near Antarctic.
凤冠企鹅的食物通常是乌贼、软体动物类、磷虾、章鱼、小鱼等。它们生活在南极附近的岛屿。
Female rockhopper penguins usually lay two eggs, but commonly only one of the chicks survives. The mother and father take turns guarding the eggs.

After the chicks are born, the father takes care of them while the mother ventures out to sea to find food for her mate and the new chick. At about six weeks of age, the rockhopper penguin chicks get adult plumage and venture out to sea on their own.
