In the severe winter, another snowstorm attacked the whole world.Soaring （翱翔的）above the boundless snowfield, a male eagle was for only one aim：the food.
严冬，又下起了一场暴风雪。一只雄鹰翱翔在无边无际的雪原上，一心一意想要找到一点食物。
This strong eagle hunted for the food with his keen eyes, but what jumped into his view was just the endless snow.
这只强壮的雄鹰用锐利的双眼搜寻着食物，可映入眼帘的只是无尽的雪。
The air temperature suddenly dropped, the originally thick feathers of the male eagle turned very thin and weak. Helplessly and hopelessly he uttered a long and loud cry and landed on the cliff.
气温骤降，雄鹰厚实的羽毛都抵不住这寒冷。他无助而又绝望地长啸一声，降落在峭壁上。
The male eagle had already flied for one whole day, yet hunting nothing ... Time changed back to the day before. After watching her husband fly away from the nest, the female eagle gently and softly held to her bosom the two baby eagles who were nearly frozen to death. She protected their young bodies under her big wings.
雄鹰已经飞了一整天了，却什么也没捕到……时间回到一天前，看着丈夫飞走后，雌鹰轻柔地把两只快冻死的小鹰揽在怀里。她用宽大的翅膀护着他们幼小的身体。
Maybe they could not hold on to the arrival of the spring, but the female eagle thought, what if their father could bring back the food? Maybe there was still a gleam（微光） of hope.
也许他们坚持不到春天了，雌鹰想着，可是万一他们的父亲能找点吃的回来呢？或许还有一线生机。
One baby eagle made a feeble（虚弱的） cry, which the other one even couldn’t make.
一只小鹰发出了微弱的叫声，而另一只已经没有一点声音了。
Nearby the female eagle there was a dead rabbit, which became the prey（猎物） of the male eagle before the mountain was covered with the snow. Now this prey, which sustained（维持） the family of four for ten days, had turned into a skeleton（骨架） from which all the blood and flesh（肉） was taken out.
在雌鹰的身旁，有一只死兔子，那还是大雪尚未封山时雄鹰抓到的。这只兔子使这一家四口维持了十天的生计，现已变成一副被掏空了血肉的骨架。
At the end of that short day, which seemed like a long life, the female eagle still couldn’t see her husband come back, obviously feeling that one baby eagle, who scrunched up （蜷缩）under her lukewarm（微温的） feathers, became increasingly ice-cold.
短暂的一天结束了，但这一天在雌鹰看来无比漫长。还不见雄鹰回来，雌鹰明显感觉到蜷缩在自己微温的翅羽下的一只小鹰变得越来越冰凉了。
Rather than look at helplessly her two babies die in succession（相继）, the female eagle thought that she should do something. She pulled apart her own chest with the sharp beaks（喙）, the feathers that fell off her body being blown here and there by the icy wind.
她不能眼睁睁地看着自己的两个孩子相继死去。雌鹰觉得自己应该做点什么。她用尖利的喙撕开了自己的胸脯，落下的羽毛被寒风吹得四处飘散。
With feeble（微弱的） strength, she told her last baby who was still at the verge of death（奄奄一息）, “Eat me ...”
她用最后一丝力气对那只奄奄一息的小鹰说：“把我吃了吧……”
Outside, the male eagle, who stood for a long time keeping close watch on the food, shook out the snow accumulated in his wings. After making a yowl, he made his best efforts to unfold two wings, flinging into the sky. He overlooked the land, which was still a vast expanse of whiteness. Suddenly, a leaden（深灰色的） object jumped into his eyes.
”外面，雄鹰站在悬崖上仔细地搜索着食物。许久之后，他抖落了翅膀上的积雪，长鸣一声，便奋力展开双翅，直冲云霄。他俯视着大地，一切仍是白茫茫的一片。突然，一个深灰色的物体映入眼帘。
The male eagle nosed down to look on it carefully. That was another gray rabbit.The male eagle jumped on the rabbit.
雄鹰俯冲而下，仔细查看。这又是一只灰兔。雄鹰纵身向灰兔扑去。
At that moment, the rabbit didn’t hide or escape, but crept tightly upon the snowfield.
在那一瞬间，灰兔既不躲藏，也不逃跑，而是紧紧地匍匐在雪地上。
The male eagle seized the rabbit with sharp craws and killed it. When getting ready to fly away, the scene before his eyes made him startled（震惊）. Just now under the body of the old gray rabbit lay four stiff（僵硬的） baby rabbits.
雄鹰用利爪抓住了灰兔。正当他准备腾空离去时，眼前的一幕令他怔住了。在老灰兔的身下，躺着四只已经僵硬的小灰兔。
Love is broad and profound , yet also cruel.
爱是博大的，爱也是残酷的。
父母对子女的爱是最为深厚的。为了孩子，父母甚至可以牺牲自我。
