    今天我们的主角是小刘的精神支柱星爸爸

    话不多说,我们开始今天的“星巴克宫殿”的英语学习吧!

    欢迎来到上海洪焙工坊!
    这座位于上海市静安区吴江路的“咖啡宫殿”——星巴克臻选·上海烘焙工坊,拥有米白大理石的外观,简洁的英文和大门上美人鱼的艺术浮雕与街对面的绿色圆形灯标形成了鲜明对比。星巴克甄选·上海烘焙工坊于2017年在上海静安区正式启动,占地2700平方米,共有两层楼,其中进驻烘焙工坊的三个品牌为:星巴克臻选、Princi、Teavana。在2019年的暑假,我有幸在此参加一次翻译活动,主题背景便是与星巴克的咖啡文化相关。当然星巴克是国际知名的咖啡品牌,在全球各地都能见到连锁店,这一家有什么不同呢?在活动结束之后,我留下了当时翻译时拿到的工坊双语介绍的手绘广告册,今天就作为特辑,来和大家聊一聊哦!

    *本特辑分为上、下两个部分,分别讲述工坊两层楼的不同设施和相关内容。

    “这里绝非一座单纯的"星巴克旗舰店”,而是一个自1971年起,便索绕我们心头的梦想。一座真正的咖啡烘培工厂,被我们完整搬入了2700平方米的店堂之中。你将看到,一颗颗绿色的咖啡生豆,如何历经工业化的烘焙与艺术化的冲煮,直至成为杯中饮品。”

    “More than a Starbucks flagship store, the Shanghai Roastery is our dream come true —— a dream we have envisioned since 1971 and is now brought to life in Shanghai today. Within the 2,700 m Shanghai Roastery floor-space, we have built an entire coffee factory. You are about to observe the wondrous possibilities of coffee, the craftsmanship of roasting and the artistry of brewing.

    是咖啡将我们引领至此,也吸引你来到工坊。这扇手工打磨的大门上,深深地刻入了咖啡豆的形状,也刻下了我们对阿拉比卡咖啡豆热爱。此外,这里还有星巴克公司创始人及名誉主席霍华德舒尔茨的签名哦!

    了解咖啡豆的旅程 The Journey of the Bean

    咖啡豆的生产过程

    1.来自全球各大产区的咖啡生豆,将首先抵达生豆站a。烘焙师割开麻袋,将生豆倾倒入进料台,下方的管链传送系统会将它们送入六个巨大的生豆储罐b中保存。

    Green coffee beans arrive from all the world‘s coffee-growing regions at a loading dock a on the Starbucks Roastery’s southeast corner. From there, we cart the burlap bags to the green bean staging area a where we place the coffee beans into tubes that deliver them to the silos b.

    2.随后,储藏的咖啡生豆将通过管道被送往烘豆机c烘焙。烘焙师将大展技艺,唤醒咖啡豆中隐藏的风味。

    From the silos, coffee beans to be shipped out are loaded into tubes for delivery to the Small-Batch Roaster c. Our master roasters then ply their craft, using a combination of time and heat to ensure each coffee’s ultimate expression.

    3.烘焙后的咖啡豆即将被送往大铜罐d中静置,风味将攀升至巅峰。

    After roasting, tubes deliver the coffee beans to the copper cask d , where beans rest and de--gas-an essential step to ensure the peak flavor.

    4.之后,部分咖啡豆将通过咖啡交响管送往各吧台,更多咖啡豆则踏上包装站e,被送往全国星巴克臻选门店。

    After the rest period, roasted beans are delivered via ubes to the bar silos, or to be bagged for shipment to Starbucks Reserve stores in China e.
