There once was a famous professor, who always wrote the numbers 2 and 4 on the blackboard at the first course to his new students, and asked the students“what is the answer.”
曾经有一位著名的教授，每次给新生上第一堂课时，他总是在黑板上写下2和4这两个数字，然后问学生答案是什么。
Every time when he asked this question, some of his students said 6 is the key while some others held that 2 is more proper and some of them chose 8 as the answer. Moreover, there were still others who were just sitting at their seats without a word.
每次当他问这个问题时，一些学生说答案是6，而另一些人认为2才是更好的答案，还有一些人觉得是8。此外，也有一些人只是坐在座位上一言不发。
But at the time that the students were discussing the issues , the professor always sighed and said to the students, “It is no use for you to debate because all of you did not focus the key point：what exactly the question is asked about.
但在学生们热烈讨论的时候，教授总会叹着气，对学生们说：“你们这样争辩是没用的，因为你们都没有找到关键之处，那就是我要问的是什么问题。
Were those two numbers being required to be added， subtracted or to do some other calculations? Without what the question is exactly about, how can you make a right response?”
我是让你们把这两个数字相加、相减，还是要做其他计算？不知道问题问的究竟是什么，你们怎么能做出正确的回答呢？”
找到正确的问题比知道问题的答案更重要。
