HOLDING OPPOSITES情感的包容

The deepest expression of emotional capacity is the ability to experience a full range of feelings. Because it is so difficult for the mind to hold contradictory impulses, our tendency is to choose up sides, valuing certain emotional skills while neglecting and even disparaging others.

情感容量最高境界是指容纳（驾驭）各种感情的能力。思维是很难同时容纳相反的情绪，我们的倾向选择喜欢（熟悉）的情绪，重视某些情绪技巧而忽视甚至轻视其它的。

No emotional capacity better serves depth and richness more than the willingness to value feelings that seem contradictory and not to choose up sides between them.

只有心甘情愿地接受那些看似相反的情绪（感觉），不逼自己必须二选一，才有可能获得最深刻最丰富的情感能力。

We are, in effect, the sum of our complexities and contradictions. Practically, we must focus on building emotional capacity wherever it is that we are most out of balance. The ultimate goal is to move more freely and flexibly between our own opposites.

实际上，我们都是复杂性和矛盾的集合体。现实生活中，我们要在失去平衡前专注地建立自己的情绪能力。我们的终极目标是能够在对自己截然相反的情绪（情感）中自由而又灵活地转换。

我的思考My Thinking

1.情感的能力的最高境界是能够在各种情感中自由灵活地转化。人是矛盾体，在情感方面可能经历各种情绪，但同时出现截然矛盾的情绪是几乎不可能的。你想获得快乐，那就用积极的情绪取代负面的情绪就可以了。
The deepest emotional capacity is to move freely and flexibly between one's opposites. People are of self-contradictions and experience all kinds of emotions, but almost impossible to tolerate contradictory emotions at the same time. If you want to be happy, replace negative emotions by positive ones.

2.人是复杂性和矛盾的集合体。这就要求我们具体事情具体分析，而不非黑即白的一刀切！我的微信背景图中是一个太极图，黑白之间是彩虹！延伸到企业管理中，企业大部分会明文规定必须做的、明文禁止的，这会涵盖大部分情况。但总会有少数情况（所谓的特例）是不在这些规定范围之内的，这就要求管理者明智地按照实际情况灵活处理。
People of sum of complexities and contradictions. Based on this nature, we must move on case by case instead of cutting, which means allowing no flexibility. Extending to corporate management, most companies clearly rule the Must Dos and Must NOT DOs which covers most situations and potential issues. However there are always few special cases which fall out of scope which requires managing wisely based on reality.
