Prelude

Screening on my frequented social media apps, I incidentally caught a glimpse of the upcoming lecture of speaking by Mr. Luo, one of the humorous and eloquent speaker alive. Without hesitation, I paid its price in 16. Jan, 2017.

Honestly, I minced no words to point out my weakness in both public speaking and private discourse. In public, the moment I stepped on the podium, my legs trembled, my hands sweated, and my mind became unconscious. Worse still, all decency and composure went into smoke, leaving me burned with uneasiness and humiliation. In private, reasoning and insights are not my strong suit. Sometimes, deprived of clear thinking and professional skills, I would make a fool of myself in front of others.

It was an inveterate habit, which had grown into such hideous malady. After wrestling with inherent mental conflicts, I decided to endorse the lecture and at the same time, try to get over with my previous mentality.

Mr. Luo, a prominent lecturer, has redefined his vision and artistry through the invention of Smartisan. Before that, he has risen to the occasion by his unequaled humor and unmatched charming, thus fascinating a multitude of frantic students and fans .

Reflections on Live Lecture

That night, over 70,000 listeners were anxiously expecting his performance. I was particularly drawn to his ability to settle problems and his “unbiased” prank when he dubbed himself as “China’s most eminent speaker”. Hilarious but genuine, the lecture aimed to dissipate our doubts and incompetence.

To start with, he expounded several bewildering topics on speaking. There are a few impressive and inspiring insights.

Stage fright is universal, so as to obviate it, you have to practice more with recordings and videos. Observing your facial expression and impromptu reflexes are essential to do the magic.

Every experienced speaker must spare no effort in crafting consummate performance with the time for preparations is 200 times to that of a live lecture. Craftsmanship comes with deliberate practice.

Also, he highlighted that despite the advent of impressive and spectacular tool-aided presentations, thought and logic speak for themselves.

Next came the ten simple but powerful techniques, one of which is to attract your audience with singular taste combined with rhetorical stories and questions. Other advice include quantification, modest bragging, syllogism, visualization, humor, logic, emotion and title. All of them were further explained in the lecture, and if checked carefully, it is self-evident that they are universally applicable, such as in writing, job-hunting and fundraising.

Last but not the least, what dazzled me most was his hands-on experience and lecture on how to decipher the behind-the-scene preparedness of Smartisan M1 release ceremony last year.

Reflections on M1 Release

Thanks to his incisive explanations, I could not wait to watch the three-hour video on Youtube four months ago. His ten commandments were dexterously employed during the speech. Public speaking seems to be his inherent ability.

As CEO and PM, he definitely made an exquisite showdown with both gigantic hardware innovations and flexible software operating systems, which, in his own words, “offer the perfection of artistry to mass consumers”. His Peking repartee in monologue was so amusing that even an escape for bathrooms seemed oddly pricey. The artistic and mind-blowing persistence demonstrated a master and mastermind all the more.

Rhetorical Questions User Story- Smart Light Overpowering Visualization Brand Promotion

He was in great emotion when calling for the constant creativity and overpowering artistry in China, and so was everyone at present.

To my enduring gratitude, I respect his remarkable speaking skills and all he has done to innovate the industry with superb design and user-experience.

I do believe that One-Step for Smartisan is Bigbang for Evolution.
