“…and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” The scripture is quoted from Matthew 6:18 of the new testament. It means, the Lord searches everything and it makes us care less about what other people think of us. When we do the right things, we don’t need the applause from others. After committing a crime, we don’t worry only about our reputation, but we repent to God to resolve the difference with other and apologize to those we’ve hurt. If we do this, there is peace in our hearts. Because the eyes of the Lord are on all the earth, he may greatly help those whose heart is perfect with him.
From the above scripture, it reminds of me about my fast experience. In the Christ belief, when we need to pray for some important things, we’d better fast for it. Before I became a Christian, I liked to do Yoga and fasted for one day every month to detoxify my body per the Yoga rules. However, according to the Lord’s rules, fasting means that Christians can create a good relationship with God, so that we can pray for our trouble and get the response from the Lord in time. But Matthew6:18 scripture also tells us that “It will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen. If I fast, I must work as usual and don’t tell anybody. Regarding the fasting fact whether we can tell other people, I consulted the pastor’s suggestion. I can tell the Christians and the pastor, but don’t show my real fasting status to other non-Christians.
In recent three months, I could keep on fasting for a whole day every Wednesday. I prayed for my parents’ health and relationships, my friends’ health, and Tang sister’s illness from our church and so on. Of course, I also prayed for my English level and my working skill. Last month, I also had a three-days fasting experience, in those three days, I not only attended the training, but also I must work overtime until 10:00PM. Frankly, I didn’t believe I could fast successfully for three days. During the fasting progress, I couldn’t eat any food. I only had drinking water. For the result, I knew that my energy was from the Lord’s granting. After I finished the fast, God also gave me some response. Praise God.
