积微，月不胜【1】日，时不胜月，岁不胜时。凡人好傲慢小事，大事至然后兴之务之，如是则常不胜夫敦比【2】于小事者矣。是何也？则小事之至也数，其悬【3】日也博，其为积也大。大事之至也稀，其悬日也浅，其为积也小。……能积微者速成。

积微，用一个月时间来积累大事也比不上用一天的时间积累小事，用一季积累大事也比不上用一月时间积累小事，用一年的时间积累大事也比不上用一季的时间积累小事。

We are supposed to attach importance to minuteness. It is much better to take daily routines seriously than merely set your mind to possibly coming monthly events. Likewise, getting down to monthly matters overweighs only focusing on probable seasonal occurrence. Similarly, In comparison to completely centering around potential yearly happenings, putting handling seasonal issues ahead is of greater value.

一般人都爱怠慢小事，（总是在）大事临头然后才忙活起来。这样一来，便常常不如那些认真处置每日小事的人了。这是为什么呢？小事来临很多很多，耗费的精力时间也多，累积的成果也大。大事来临得少，耗费的时间精力也浅，积累的成果也少。

People more often than not think little of trifles. Only when a major task is hanging over them will they go to all lengths to deal with it. In this way, they are inferior to those who take minor assignment seriously. The reason lies in that it takes more time and energy to deal with minor tasks due to their frequency, so it is natural to gain fruitful fulfillment. On the other hand, since few of our daily tasks belongs to great events, we put comparatively less energy and time in them, which results in limited accomplishment ultimately.

积累微小之功，实际上成功最快。

Therefore, Those who place priority on minuteness have easier access to greater achievement.

细节决定成败。高考成绩想要达到一定的高度，一个学生既要具备高屋建瓴的整体思维，又有针对局部的精准和敏锐。高手比拼，后者往往更为致命，有时一个解题步骤出了问题就可能会与自己的理想志愿失之交臂。换个角度说，有的同学寄希望于重大考试的毕其功于一役，而忽视了对日常每一道错题，每一次作业，每一次统练的反思，积累和总结，这是他们遭遇挫败的重要根源。九层之台，起于垒土，希望同学们能够真正在学习中去领悟、践行。
