LastThursday night was an unforgettable night. At about 10:40 pm when it was time for me togo to sleep, i heard many girls screaming outside. At first i felt so cofused, i said to myself : is there a fire outside or is there an earthquake?
I counldn't help thinking other worse situations and rushed out to the balcony to have a look. In the meantime, lots of girls were pouring out from the dorms, shouting with excitement. As i looked at the direction of the basketball playground, i finally understood their exaggerated behavior.
There were many bright candles being put as a heart circle in the basketball playground and a girl stood in the center of it. A boy was singing love songs with a piece of sound equipment, making all the people in the girl's dormitory can hear. I didn't have a chance to get a close look for i just wore pajamas. But from the videos other people recorded, i counld see they were surrounded by a crowd of people and thunderous applause, hugging and kissing. That was really a romantic scene which most girls dream. They went crazy for it was the first time they could enjoy the beautiful moment in real life other than hot search on the internet.
Later that day the whole campus was talking about this news. We then knew the boy was celebrating his girlfriend's 18th birthday. I thought that was a happy ending.However, the next day, some people were not satified with the boy's high-profile in showing love.
From my perspective, i respect and appreciate the boy's behavior.The reasons are as follows. For one thing, everyone has his own right to express what he wants if that's legal and not harmful to others. The boy's behavior is not common to see but it doesn't mean it is unacceptable. For another, expressing your love is the most important part no matter what method you use. So if you want to express your love in public just do it, if you only want to share this love with her quietly that's also okay. We have different choices and attitudes but reach the same aim. Additionally, i think the boy is very brave and determined. He gave all of us a surprise, he taught us that life can be lived like this.
Nowadays people pay too much attention to other people's life. They're easy to have prejudice on others. They like to judge others with their narrow-minded opinions in the circumstances of not knowing the truth. Some of them even force their values on others. All of these phenomena are too horrible and unavoidable. We should learn to accept the variety and have access to grasp the overall understanding. Be respectful, be kind, the world will be better!
