Lesson 42 North America教学设计

    Teaching objectives:

    By the end of class, most students can realize these levels:

    1. 90 % Ss can understand the main information of North America by listening.

    2.Most of students can descibe three main countries(Canada, the U.S. Mexico) in North America.

    3. Ss can be able to tell the information about China by using the knowledge they've learnt.Such as the area, the population, the language and so on.

    4. Be able to broaden their horizon by learning the information of different countries.

    Teaching important points:

    Understand and master the general information of North America by listening and reading .

    Teaching difficult points:

    Retell the whole passage, and descibe China by using the information they ' ve learnt this class.

    Teaching methods:

    Communication with students, Task-based Language learning method.

    Learning method:

    Self-study method, cooperation method.

    Teaching tools: recorder, PPT, textbook, blackboard.

    Teaching concepts(Teaching presupposition):

    Step1 Lead in.

    How many continents are there in the world ?

    What are they ?

    Li Ming wrote a report about the third largest continent in the world, do you know what it is ?

    (Purpose: Activate the knowledge they learnt .)

    Step2. Listening practice.

    Play the record for several times, make students complete the table of North America.

    (Purpose: Improve  Ss' listening skills,to get the general information of North America. )

    Step3. Reading practice.

    1. Fast reading by themselves, then answer some questions.

    2.Details of reading in pairs, and ask the questions they can't solve.

    (Purpose: To train students reading skills, and learning ability, it is because asking a question is more important than solve it.)

    Step3. Post reading .

    Try to retell the passage in groups, and then show it in front of the class, especially how to espress the area, the population, the language people speak in these countries.

    (Purpose: to check the classroom generated)

    Step4. Activity

    Try to do a report about China.

    (Purpose: Applying what they learn,improve students' innovation transference abilities.)

    Step5. Classroom test.

    Step6. Sum up.

    Step7. Homework.
