Today I brought 4 books in my backpack, Melon directly chose 《Big red barn》.

Started from the cover, he obviously stared at the poultry as usual, and told the animal names he’d already known. He would get to know the unknown animals some time later. When I turned to the 1st page, he was amazed by the beautiful scene and said “wow”, he told me the left side was the corn field, to be honest, I wasn’t so sure that was the corn field, so my boy became my teacher then.

When I read the animals’ name he would try to find where it was, and also I would asked him which was the big one or the little one, when he answered me, I said thanks for telling me the answer. When I read the weather vane which visualized as a golden flying horse, I tried hard to explain, but not that easy, maybe my boy and I needed some time. When we turned the pages, the animals became more and more, Melon became more and more excited, his eyes was like a shining star. When I read the rooster, he said “wow” again, he didn’t pay much attention on the flying pigeon, he liked the hen so much, coz there was an egg laying under the hen, and kept telling me “that’s the egg, that’s the egg”. And what surprised him more was the next page, he’s seen a clutch of eggs, he counted one by one very happily. When I turned to page when the cats’ and the dogs’ family coming out from the barn to outside, he particularly focus the cat jumped out from the barn window. I liked the page all the animals came out to the grass land, Melon said the goats were playing and having fun. I tried to lead him to see what other animals were doing. When I read the last but one page, Melon really found the little mice were playing on the hay. The book was ended with a very beautiful moon on the sky.
