Overall, I think the work flow of the construction 3D printing can be divided into two part.
This side is the material based. First, what is the material look like? This include the recipe design of the material, the properties of the cementitious material, like workability, strength and durability.
and then it moves to the second stage of delivering. how can we pump this material, is this material flow-able to be pumped while can set in a reasonable short time once pumped out?
then the printer and the nozzle design. is the frame of the printer easy to transport and strong enough to keep the precise, with the load but without deformation. how to design the nozzle that easy to clean and maintain while can control the speed of the material flow.
The other pathway is design based.
in the first place, i think would be the architectural design of the structure. it has to fit the uniqueness of the 3D printed.
and then would be how to transfer this design into programming, to put a way that the computer can understand, the printer can follow.
last but not the least, the controlling system. is it precise enough? is it user-friendly? etc.
