“last”和 “latest”傻傻分不清楚？

1、Last /la:st/

adj. 最后的；最近的

释义：It refers to something happens or comes after all other similar things or people, or the the most recent thing.

它指的是发生在其他类似事或人之后的事情，也就是最后出现的事情；或者表示最近发生的事情。

例句：

①Linda was the last to arrive at the meeting.

Linda是最后到会的人。

②The last time I met Steven was in August.

我上次见Steven是在八月份。

2、Latest /ˈleɪtɪst/

adj. 最新的；最近的

释义：It means that something is the most recent or newest.

它指的是某事物是最新出现的、最近的。

例句：

①He bought the latest product of this brand yesterday.

他昨天买了这个牌子的最新产品。

②Her latest novel is very famous among young people.

她的新书在年轻人之间非常出名。
