Estos años en el Real Madrid, y en esta ciudad de Madrid, han sido posiblemente los más felices de mi vida.
Solo tengo sentimientos de enorme agradecimiento para este club, para esta afición y para esta ciudad. Solo puedo dar las gracias a todos ellos por el cariño y afecto que he recibido.
Sin embargo, creo que ha llegado el momento de abrir una nueva etapa en mi vida y por eso he pedido al club que acepte traspasarme. Lo siento así y pido a todos, y muy especialmente a nuestros seguidores, que por favor me comprendan.
Han sido 9 años absolutamente maravillosos. Han sido 9 años únicos. Ha sido para mí un tiempo emocionante, repleto de consideración aunque también duro porque el Real Madrid es de una altísima exigencia, pero sé muy bien que no podré olvidar jamás que aquí he disfrutado del Fútbol de una manera única.
He tenido en el campo y en el vestuario a unos compañeros fabulosos, he sentido el calor de una afición increíble y juntos hemos conquistado 3 Champions seguidas y 4 Champions en 5 años. Y junto a ellos además, a nivel individual, tengo la satisfacción de haber ganado 4 Balones de Oro y 3 Botas de Oro. Todo durante mi etapa en este club inmenso y extraordinario.
El Real Madrid ha conquistado mi corazón, y el de mi familia, y por eso más que nunca quiero decir gracias: gracias al club, al Presidente, a los directivos, a mis compañeros, a todos los técnicos, médicos, fisios y trabajadores increíbles que hacen que todo funcione y que están pendientes de cada detalle incansablemente.
Gracias infinitas una vez más a nuestros seguidores y gracias también al Fútbol español. Durante estos 9 años apasionantes he tenido enfrente a grandísimos jugadores. Mi respeto y mi reconocimiento para todos ellos.
He reflexionado mucho y sé que ha llegado el momento de un nuevo ciclo. Me voy pero esta camiseta, este escudo y el Santiago Bernabéu los seguiré sintiendo siempre como algo mío esté donde esté.

These years in Real Madrid, and in this city of Madrid, have been possibly the happiest of my life.
I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club, for this hobby and for this city. I can only thank all of them for the love and affection I have received.
However, I believe that the time has come to open a new stage in my life and that is why I have asked the club to accept transferring me. I feel that way and I ask everyone, and especially our followers, to please understand me.
They have been absolutely wonderful for 9 years. They have been 9 unique years. It has been an exciting time for me, full of consideration but also hard because Real Madrid is of a very high demand, but I know very well that I will never forget that I have enjoyed football here in a unique way.
I have had fabulous teammates in the field and in the dressing room, I have felt the warmth of an incredible crowd and together we have won 3 Champions in a row and 4 Champions in 5 years. And with them also, on an individual level, I have the satisfaction of having won 4 Gold Balls and 3 Gold Boots. All during my time in this immense and extraordinary club.
