Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. ---Matthew 5:8
Pure conscience was not only an island of perfection, it had wider meanings than this. Purity of mind is the result of an enduring spiritual union with God, so we need to grow on it. Our relationship with God may be right, and the pure heart within is not defiled, but the flowers of life outside may be defiled. God has not ruled out such a possibility, so that he lets us know that to keep the vision, we must keep our personal purity. If there be any blemish in the flower of life before God, we must lay everything down to keep our personal purity well. Remember that vision depends on character---a man of a pure will see God.
God sanctifies us by his supreme grace, but we must be careful to keep it. Our bodies come into contact with other people or other minds, so we are easily defiled. Not only must the inner sanctuary have a normal relationship with God, but even the outer court must be in perfect agreement with His holiness. As soon as the outer court was defiled, the spiritual understanding was darkened. To be in communication with the Lord Jesus, it means that there is something not to do, not to think about, and not to touch.
There is feasible way to keep one’s sanctity in relation to other, this is, to speak to oneself: The man and that woman are perfect in Jesus Christ! That friend, that relative, is safe in Jesus Christ.
Dear God, how depressed and appalled I was that I was about to sink into mediocrity. God, help me to live a life pure, strong, and devoted only to you.
