It is a true saying that "time in idleness is quickly spent". In no time at all it was Fifteenth Night, and Shi-yin sent little Ying-lian out, in the charge of one of the servants called Calamity, to see the mummers and the coloured lanterns. It was near midnight when Calamity, feeling an urgent need to relieve his bladder, Ying-lian down on someone's doorstep while he went about his business, only to find, on his return, that the child was nowhere to be seen. Frantically he searched for her thoroughout the rest of the night; but when day dawned and he had still not found her, he took to his heels, not daring to face his master and mistress, and made off hor another part of the country.
真是闲处光阴易过，倏忽又是元宵佳节矣。士隐命家人霍启抱了英莲去看社火花灯，半夜中，霍启因要小解，便将英莲放在一家门槛上坐着。待他小解完了来抱时，那有英莲的踪影？急得霍启直寻了半夜，至天明不见，那霍启也就不敢回来见主人，便逃往他乡去了。

《红楼梦》里面所有人的名字，都常有作者隐在里面的一些暗示。譬如一个丫头出来，这个丫头看到了一个男的，觉得长得不错，就回头看他。这个男的后来做了大官，想念这个丫头，念念不忘她曾经回头看过自己，就找到那个丫头，娶她做了妾。做妾以后第一年就生了一个男孩子，在家里地位立刻提高，第二年原配死掉，她被扶正，一生的命运都改变了，从一个低卑的丫头，忽然间变成一个大官的夫人，她的名字叫“娇杏”，娇滴滴的娇，杏花的杏，谐音就是“侥幸”。
比如霍启，同祸起~
