掘了一条无法跨越的沟渠
赏析：
原来一直以为英文诗是无法描绘出我们中文诗词的意境的，我相信许多人都听过类似的说法，因为我们中文的博大精深，其他语言难解其妙。
譬如天下一笼统，地上一窟窿之类。
但是在大学时读到了这首泰戈尔的《世界上最遥远的距离》，才明白，任何一种语言都有他的独特之美，想必他们也一样相信世上再没有语言能象他们那样用优美的韵律来描绘美好的情愫。
比如说，说唱音乐，英语系就曾经认为我们中文就无法实现他们所能表达的那种节奏和内涵，但现在我们中文的说唱不也一样现在如火如荼。
正所谓尺有所短，寸有所长。所以不能说那种语言好，只能说在哪个语境下产生的作品肯定在哪个语境下更悠扬。
正如这首泰戈尔的英文诗，虽然中文的翻译也十分出彩，但是与英文原作比起来依然是缺乏了些原有的味道与韵律。这也是许多人发奋学好英语的动力。
这首诗有两个版本，一个是飞鸟与鱼版，一个是不可跨越版。第一个版本据说更可信一些，第二个版本比第一个版本短很多，但也很精典。也有一种说法，这首诗是假借泰戈尔之作，这点我没做考证，但不论真假，都不妨害其成为一首经典的英文诗。
第一句“The farthest distance in the world Is not the distance between life and death But you don't know I love you when I stand in front of you ”，就非常点睛，没想到泰戈尔竟能在这个基础上叠加出来那么多金句。
I cannot say I love you when I love you so madly.
I can only bury it in my heart despite the unbearable yearning
we cannot be together when we love each other
而后的两句则更上层楼。
we pretend caring nothing even we know love is unconquerable
the branches cannot depend on each other in wind even they grow from the same root.
从生与死距离，到近在咫尺却形同陌路，从而明明相爱着却装着漫不经心，到枝丫相望却无法相依相偎。至此已是得上高楼，但下面的词句竟然再度拨高。
下面两首词就有不同， 飞鸟与鱼版是：世界上最遥远的距离是鱼与飞鸟的距离 一个在天，一个却深潜海底 。
无法跨越版是：面对爱自己的人断然掘上一条无法跨越的沟渠，把爱远远拒绝在世界上最遥远的距离之外。
距离产生美，但这世界上最遥远的距离却让人如此痛苦，正如七般苦的求不得。诗人敏感的字里行间，流露着痛苦无奈的情感，令人不禁动容。这首诗在词句上情绪排比、层度递增，把思而不得的单恋之情一步步的表达得无可复加，把读者带到了那种痛苦的最遥远的距离，读至最后往往令人泪眼模糊。
