Every time I came back from my long trips from China, I got serious jet-lag. I could never get away from it until more than a week later even with so many trips that I made during the last two years.
This time was no exception. I just came back since Tuesday. So my jet-lag is in full swing. Yesterday when I drove home from the office, I almost dozed off more than once while I was driving. That scared me a lot since I was driving about 75 mph on a highway.
I tried breathing faster, pinched the back of my hand, and counting with numbers. Ok, I admit, the last one was a dumb idea since people usually do this to try to fall asleep! So I tried counting numbers backward. Anyway, I was trying everything to keep staying alert until I got home.
I took a recovery nap right after I was home. My experience is, no matter how tired I felt, I always try to maintain my exercise routine. This would help me get back to normal sooner. Right now I have changed my exercise routine to include doing chi-gong in the morning. I found a show called "Morning Chi". It's a 20 minutes exercise that can be found on YouTube. Also, my exercises include jump rope, weight exercise and running.
I particularly enjoyed jump rope. I try to do it 500 times every day. It's easy to do when you are a kid. But it's quite challenging for an adult when you are much heavier. This exercise would also help you strengthen your core muscles. I recommend it.
Salude and Cheers!
