Recently I have received a lot of auto-reply emails from my receivers. They replied as below:
“Hi Sender, Thanks for your message. I am sick from 14th Jan. and I will have limit email access during this period, so sorry for respond you late. I will reply your message when I am back office.……”
Obviously, they’re sick after the kick-off meeting also known as “Annual Meeting”, which was held in Hengdian Town.
The so called “China Annual Meeting” last 5 days, and we have a plenty of topics about our work to be discussed during the meeting seasons. Also we have a team building activity in which 30 employees were separated to one group, everyone played a role as a actor. It was the interesting part of the whole project.
Even though most of us enjoy the team building, still and all we are tired about the meetings. I thought the Annual Meeting is held for recognition and thanks to all employees. But all of us have been challenged in departmental meeting. And we knew we have so many projects to do in 2019 without extra recognition, awards, not to mention bonus.
Our knowledge of motivation tells us that people do what they would to satisfy needs. Before they do anything, they look for the payoff or reward. Many of these rewards including salary increases, employee benefits, preferred job assignments, are organizationally controlled. The key question is the total rewards distributed to functional departments was too little. So our morale is too low to support the organization development.
The internal and external pay equity issues have aroused a universal concern in the pay management, but it is often very hard to give attention to both two. Maybe the leadership members should think about the internal fairness first to lessen the turnover rate in the critical period, so that we can build up our powerful organization and creative culture.
I hope we can feel inspired after kick-off meeting in next time.
