Though I've started to write for years, I haven't noticed any writing methods until recently. To summarize my own habit of writing, Iisting is the method I have used the most and will continuously apply to my writing. Listing is a very simple technique and can easily associate with other methods for example free writing. If you need to write an essay or some difficult analysis, you can first free write on a blank paper, then use another paper to list your ideas as bullet points or numerical points. It's a logical method and does help you to organize your writing structure.
If you have researched on different methods for writing, you'll have probably know mind-mapping. It's a popular way of organizing writing (as well noting and practicing thinking ability) with colorful frames. I'm a visualized person, so this really works for me. It's good to draw a mapping to analyze the relation between things or gather key points before composing.
I've found another new way of writing called cubing, which allows you to look at a topic from six sides, like a cube. The six sides are: describe, compare, analyze, associate, apply and argue. It's recommended that you spend 3-5 minutes exploring each of the sides. This is an excellent strategy to use when you're trying to decide how to tackle a topic t the outset, or should your ideas dry up and you come to a sudden stop. It's an interesting method for me to try next.
