人生本无常，盛衰何可恃

狐眠败砌，兔走荒台，尽是当年歌舞之地；露冷黄花，烟迷衰草，悉属旧时争战之场，盛衰何常？强弱安在？念此令人心灰！

【大意】
狐狸作窝的破屋残壁，野兔奔跑的废亭荒台，都是当年美人歌舞的胜地；遍地菊花在寒风中抖擞，一片枯草在烟雾中摇曳，都是以前英雄争霸的战场。兴衰成败是如此无常，而富贵强弱又在何方呢？每当想到这些名利地位、是非得失，就会使人产生无限感伤而心灰意懒。
