That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us to that the world may believe that you have sent me. –John17:21
If your path is lonely, read John 17. You can get the right explanation here—Jesus was asking the Father to unite you with the Father just as he was with the Father. Are you trying to get this prayer answered? Or do you have another purpose in life? Now that you’re a disciple, you can’t be as independent as you used to be. God’s purpose is not to answer our prayers, but to discern his mind through our prayers, as shown in John17. There is one prayer that God will answer, and that is the prayer of the Lord Jesus. ---“That they may be one, even as we are one.” Are we so close to the Lord Jesus?
God’s doesn’t care about our plans. He never said, “are you willing to go through this pain and trouble?” He had his own purpose in allowing these painful things to happen. If the things we experienced can’t make us softer, more perfect, more noble, it will make us more critical, more critical, more insistent. Experience can turn us into demons or saints, depending on our relationship with God. If we say, “Your will will be done.” We will find the comfort in John17 and know our father in wisdom has done all things. When we know God’s intentions, we will not be mean and shameless. Jesus prays that we may be fully one with him, even as he is one with his Father. Some of us are still very far away, but God will let us alone. He will make us truly one with him, for Jesus has prayed for us and expects us to do so.
Dear God, I am so helpless to bear fruit for you in the world. I am so narrow-minded, so unlike you. Forgive me, and may I be fruitful and glorify my father through dwelling in Jesus.
This is the answer
