The little princess Sara is a five years old girl. She was born in India, her father Mr Crewe is a captain serving the navy. So you probably think it’s weird why Sara is called as little princess, because neither she or her father has the royal blood.
Please allow me to tell you this lovely story.
Captain Crewe has a great fortune, but his wife died once little Sara was gave the birth. He is the only relative to Sara, vice versa. Then he wanted present anything to Sara only if she liked. He can spent more than £100 buying a wonderful doll for Sara, also can order the most luxurious room for her in the boarding school. She is the little princess in his heart.
Sara should have been spoiled for these too much love, but she didn’t. She is very polite and way thoughtful. She took care of her father very well. Because she is also very old-fashioned, showing her biggest kind to others. Therefore Captain Crewe regards her as a precious jewelry in his hand.
They never thought of separating with each other. However, the temperature was no good for little children in India , more and more children were sent back to England for education and healthcare. The little one was sent to Miss Minchin’s boarding school finally.
Even though Sara didn’t want to leave her father, she endured that such painful feeling, holding the tears in her big green-gray eyes. In the beginning, she was arranged in the most beautiful room in the school, having a French maid and a pony. She is an excellent reader who had read a lot of books. She has a gift on language, can speak perfect French, Indian , English and so on. She also can dance well and sing in a beautiful way. She is so pretty and clever that Miss Minchin treated her as the best pupil.
I said that Sara is a very kind child. She helped the misfortune servant Becky, read stories and even gave her many delicious foods. She comforted the little Lottie, because she either hasn’t mother. She encouraged Ermengarde and played with her.
She worn the best dress and behaved so polite that all the students called her as Sara princess. On the other hand, she required herself to be a princess following all the principles which a princess should obey.
One day, at her seven birthday party she was told that her beloved papa died of the bad condition and finance failure. The worst is he left no penny to Sara.
Since that moment, she became the poorest student in the school, had to move to the attic besides Becky’s one. She was ordered to teach younger children French and do the errands for the kitchen. As Miss Minchin required her to pay her bill on her own.You can’t see her read a book in the daytime. Only at night she was allowed to read some old and dusty books in the library. But these tough situation can’t beat her. She never lost her kindness and gentleness.
Miss Minchin fed her nothing when she punished Sara. Offered no proper dress for her, and made her tired all day. One day Sara was sent to the street, she found out four pennies in the muddy ground. She was so happy that she can buy her 4 hot buns, and that may feed herself full. She can’t help rushing to the bakery’s shop. At the door, she met Annie, a real beggar, too starve to walk. Sara asked Annie :"Are you hungry?" "Yes" that’s Annie’s reply. Sara went into the shop, asked for four buns. The bakery woman saw what happened just now. Gave Sara six buns. And Sara only left herself one bun. Annie ate the rest five hot buns.
Meanwhile there’s an India gentleman moved to the next door of Miss Minchin’s school. The man hired a lawyer to search his best friend’s little girl. But never considered Sara would be his real target. Even though he helped Sara for many times. Until one day his monkey escaped to Sara’s attic, Sara took the naughty monkey to the gentleman’s house.
Sara knew Indian, can talk with his footman. That discovery surprised him. The Indian gentleman asked her why she can speak Indian. Sara replied she was born in India, her father was Captain Crewe, she was sent to England when she was five years old. That moment, the Indian gentleman realized he finally find the right person.
He is the best friend of Captain Crewe. He didn’t lost Captain’s money, at that time he almost died of fever, but recovered from bad disease. Unfortunately, Captain Crewe couldn’t. So he tried his best to find Captain’s little girl. At the end, Sara came to his house. And he would take care of Sara instead her father. Also will give Sara her father’s big fortune.
Sara was very fond of the old gentleman, and accepted this offer. She determined that she would never return to Miss Minchin’s school and invited Becky as her maid. They will grow up happily.
While she enjoyed the happy life, she never forget the miserable Annie. Then she persuaded the Indian gentleman to spend her money on those hungry beggars. Once they went into the bakery’s shop, they can be fed. And Sara will pay for the bills.
To be honest, this is a story to teach us to do something good. Always holding a kind and crystal heart to treat others, even in your own tough time. During the hard period you can suppose, you can imagine, you just need to be positive. And finally, the God would remember you, the gold time will come to you.
