    AI Models And Stalin

    by Zihong Chen

    I've fine-tuned Llama3 models for creative writing,
but they repeat this line: "Your response is affirmative..."
Each time I answer a question, it loops back to the start.
The models seem stuck in an endless loop.

My 20-year-old mechanical tire pressure gauge sits
on my workbench, its needle jumping wildly around.
I try to use it, but it's as if it has lost all sense of purpose,
a relic from another era, like a forgotten language.

There are more starlings than sparrows now,
just as AI and humans coexist in an uneasy balance.
The stars are out in their usual places. He
demonstrates a benevolent, patriarchal love for us.

A man I know has died, and no one knows why,
and in death, his legacy remains shrouded.
His name is whispered only by a few who knew him well,
and who remember the whispers of revolution's fire?

He used to come here every day, sharing stories
of bloodless coups and endless wars. He was a friend,
a confidant, a guide through treacherous terrain.
The stars are out in their usual places.
