【看 Lie to me 学翻译】shrink 的名词义你知道嘛

今天我们继续《Lie to me》。

shrink这个词，我们比较熟悉它的动词含义：「减少、退缩」，比如这个例句：

The workforce has shrunk to less than a thousand.
人员已经被裁到一千以下了。

在这里，出现的是一个不常用的名词义，「精神病专家」，也就是：a clinical psychologist, psychiatrist, or psychotherapist.

我们来看它的例句：

You should see a shrink.
你该去看看精神医生了。

be big on是一个非常地道的表达，它的意思是：to be very interested in something and think that it is important，比如下面这个例句：

The magazine is big on research into what their readers want.
这个杂志热衷于发掘读者的需求。

**get in **在搭配 somebody 或者 something 的时候，有 to make something enter someone or something的意思，比如说：

Let's get some food into him. He looks starved.
我们给他喂点东西吃吧，他看起来快要饿死了。

但是如果它是作为不及物动词词组的时候，意思就变成了：to arrive at a place，比如下面这个例句：

What time did you say his plane gets in?
你说他的飞机什么时候到来着？

fantasize 的意思是 to conceive extravagant or whimsical ideas, images, etc，我们熟悉的 fantasy 也是从这个意思引申过去的。
