When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last.”---Revelation1:17
Maybe you know the Lord Jesus as well as John. But when he suddenly appeared in a strange form, you could only fall at his feet at if dead. Sometimes God cannot show himself in any other way but in his majesty. The splendor of the vision has given great joy in your despair. Then you shall rise again, and shall take the hand of God.
“He put his right hand on me and said…” When someone touches you in terror, you know that it is the right hand of Jesus Christ. Not the right hand of correction or correction, but the right hand of the everlasting Father. Whenever his hand is on you, there is unspeakable peace and comfort, knowing that an everlasting arm is there to sustain you, to supply, comfort and strength. When God’s touch comes, there is nothing to fear. The Lord Jesus took the glory of heaven and said to one insignificant disciple, “do not be afraid.” His kindness is so gentle; do I know him like that?
Notice the things making you despair. There is a type of despair lack of joy, prospect and light. But joy in despair comes when I know that “in me, that is, in my flesh, there is no good.” I must bow down in the glory of God. If you rise, God will lift you up with his own hand. God can do nothing for me until I come to the end of everything.
Dear God, keep this house of the holy spirit twice as much spiritually and in all respects. Give us the light and light in which you delight.
