Do not go, my love, without asking my leave.

I have watched all night, and now my eyes are heavy with sleep.

I fear I lose you when I am sleeping.

Do not go, my love, without asking my leave.

I started up and stretch hands to touch you. I ask myself, "Is it a dream?"

Could I but entangle your feet with my heart and hold them fast to my breast!

Do not go, my love, without asking my leave. 

译文：

我的爱人，不要不辞而别。

我守候了一整夜，此刻我的双眼睡意深沉。

我害怕在睡去时失去你。

我的爱人，不要不辞而别。

我猛然起身伸出手去拉你。我问自己：“这是梦吗？”

但愿我能用我的心缠住你的双脚并紧紧抱在胸前！

我的爱人，不要不辞而别。

译者手记：

I started up and stretch hands to touch you.

started up，如“垂死病中惊坐起”中“惊坐起”之意。touch，此处没有直接译作触摸，而是译作“拉”，不自觉伸手挽留之意。
