PART 1- 3句

1, I didn't have a crush on her.

    Maylene's totally got a thing for you. You guys are great together

实用口语表达： have a crush on 对某人有好感

                      get a thing for  （起哄两人在一起， 很好的句式  哈哈）

2, All around me, love was in bloom.

把名词换掉，使用这个句式。 sadness，happiness...

  I felt a flood of emotions rushing through me. I didn't know how to describe the feeling like all around me, love was in bloom.

3, I was everywhere with everybody, and at the same time I was all by myself.

PART 2- 3词

1, matter-of-factly (adv.)

She said it so matter-of-factly that I had no idea how to process it.

matter-of-fact (adj.) + about

showing no emotion when you are talking about something exciting, frightening, upsetting etc. 

看单词字面 事情的事实  事实往往是客观的，所以自然衍生出形容词词义

仿写：How could he say the things so matter-of factly? was he actually so utterly indifferent for my life? Oh,  I wish he was not my husband.

2, out of

At break, as the only mixed kid out of a thousand, I face the same predicament.

此处 out of 翻译为 在

例如： Out of ten students, one will be successful.

在10个学生中有一个会成功。 out of 后面是分母，

在同一段中 out of 共出现三次，每次意思都不尽相同

We didn't have any money, so I was out of  the mix there,  too

out of sth的感觉就是 从sth出来，以他为标准为参照，是你的我从你里面出来，以你为基准

3, seamlessly

seam:  a line where two pieces of metal, wood etc have been joined together

连接的线少了，自然表面光滑了  放在句子中 圆滑

seamless：

同义词： flawless, letter-perfect, picture-book （比较有意思的两个单词 adj.）

PART 3- Thougths

感觉都是一样一样的，小时候都会起哄谁跟谁在一起了，他俩咋咋咋，果真这个是天性。作者在起哄中跟Maylene表白，女生也答应，结果隔天就因为另一个男生把作者华丽丽的甩了，语气都是 matter-of-fact, 心疼作者30s。作者的第一个女朋友就这样告别了自己，作者后面对那个男生的描写的口吻也是让自己感觉，嗯 以前初高中好像就是这么八卦班上的人的。

第二段校园经历的描写，作者也是因为color，不属于任何一个群体，并且最后找到了自己在这个环境中生存的办法，最终让自己属于每一个群体，又不属于任何一个群体（I was everywhere with everybody, and at the same time I was all by myself.）。其实抛去种族背景不谈，在初高中的时候班上也总是会有个小伙伴是被人不喜欢，被欺负，成为几个人“小弟”，被使唤。作者在这样的生活里找出自己的生存之道也是佩服他的内心，毕竟像大家都是同胞的环境下，还有人会适应不了校园做出各种各样的行为。
