I remember that it happened during the harvest season of the wheat. All of the grown-ups went to the fields to harvest, only the oldest and the children had been left home.

Four of us were playing hide and seek in our yard. My little brother and I, and other sister and her brother from the next door. Soon, we were getting boring and wanted more adventures. Another girl who was 6, only two years younger than me suggested us to her family's field to see if we could find some well-ripe watermelons.

All of us were excited with this fantastic idea, and almost agreed with her immediately. Since the field wasn't far from our house, so the searching work began after 15 minutes. In the very beginning, we only picked out the biggest ones and broke them with some rough stones, which were picked up by the side of the field.

Though we worked so hard under the burning sun, but non of us had found a single one which was red inside. Finally we lost our patience and ended up by breaking as much as we could until no energy left. And then we decided to back home before caght by anyone else, and continue our hide and seek.

Everything was fine until dinner. Suddenly our neighbors came with their children who were still crying when we were about to eat. Of course they told everything to my parents with angry faces. My parents were not only bowed their heads and kept apologize, but promised to make up to them, because I was the eldest of four.

I don't remember how hard the punishment was after our neighbors had gone, but I do remember that we had starved until the next day lunch.
