佩奇嘲笑乔治骑的三轮车是儿童自行车，却没想到自己的自行车有辅助轮，跟乔治的儿童自行车没有什么两样。
佩奇嘲笑乔治，朋友们笑话佩奇，佩奇很难过，决定拆掉辅助轮，猪爸爸和猪妈妈却没有嘲笑她，猪爸爸虽然担心佩奇摔跤，但还是帮佩奇拆掉了辅助轮。
果然，佩奇在拆掉辅助轮后摔跤了，佩奇开始害怕了，她要求爸爸一直跟着她扶着她，猪爸爸趁着佩奇骑的又稳又快的时候放了手，这次佩奇没有摔跤，佩奇学会了骑不用辅助轮的两轮自行车。
剧情很老套，因为几乎所有的人都是这样学会骑自行车的，扶着扶着就中途放手了，一旦父母放手了，她也就学会了，独立了。
其他方面也这样。吃饭穿衣学习照顾自己，每一样都是要父母放手之后孩子才能学会长大。
然，放手不是撒手不管，撒手不管是不负责任，放手太晚则让孩子失去了最快的成长契机，放手讲究天时地利人和，能恰到好处的放手方为智慧父母。

再一个就是犯错误之后父母的做法，犯错分故意犯错和过失犯错，故意犯错肯定不可原谅，必须严肃批评。
过失犯错则不一样，佩奇不小心把南瓜撞破了，佩奇很自责的跟猪爸爸道歉，猪爸爸并没有指责佩奇，反而关心佩奇有没有受伤。
很多网友曾在微博上吐槽父母，小时候只要是调皮弄坏了什么东西，总能换来父母的一顿揍，所以网友们很困惑：到底是亲生的孩子重要还是那个物品重要？
其实父母爱孩子是毋庸置疑的，只不过有时候父母用错了方法，猪爸爸的方法就很好，他首先是关心佩奇有没有摔伤，在确认佩奇没事之后再来批评佩奇，要佩奇以后骑车要看路。
所以到底是东西重要还是孩子重要，都体现在父母的情绪里。

爸爸：Peppa, look out my pumpkin!
佩奇：I'm going to win!

旁白：Oh, dear, Peppa has squashed Daddy Pig's pumpkin!
佩奇：Sorry I squashed your pumpkin, Daddy."
